Carmen Morin
Carmen Morin is an award-winning concert pianist, educator, and arts entrepreneur. Beginning her studies with Dan Morin, she made her orchestral debut at age 10 before touring on behalf of the Canadian Embassy. She continued her advanced studies with Dmitry Nesterov (1992 Honens Laureate) and Marilyn Engle, and later won first prize at the Coimbra World Piano Duo Competition in Portugal. She was the first teacher in Western Canada to be inducted into the Steinway & Sons Teacher Hall of Fame in New York City.
Following her faculty position at the Mount Royal University Conservatory, she founded one of Calgary’s largest private music schools, Morin Music Studio, in 2013.
As an arts entrepreneur, she received the Horizon Alumni Achievement Award from Mount Royal University in 2016 and, in 2021, was chosen as one of Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 in Calgary.
Today, Carmen extends her performance-based expertise as a consultant and speaker, sharing the unique insights of professional musical training with corporate leaders through specialized corporate training programs that focus on business performance and human-centered systems. She also serves on the Honens Board of Directors.
