Only months after her win at the Honens International Piano Competition, 2025 Honens Gold Laureate Élisabeth Pion returns for her first post-Competition appearance in Calgary. This free, noon-hour recital is an opportunity to experience Élisabeth's brilliance up close and personal, both at the piano and in person.
Her program shares a glimpse of Élisabeth's musical voice, which captivated juries and listeners alike, by pairing the elegance and imagination of Hélène de Montgeroult (a pioneering French composer whose music bridges Classical technique with early-Romantic expressivity) with the dramatic virtuosity of Franz Liszt’s celebrated transcriptions of Schubert Lieder.
As one of Canada's most compelling young artists, Élisabeth brings the emotional landscapes of these works vividly to life at the piano. This noon-hour concert is sure to showcase exactly why she won the Audience Choice Award at the Honens Competition too!
Admission is free and all are welcome.
