Experience the joy of World Piano Day on 29 March at Southcentre Mall with a full day of free live music. Enjoy performances by 2022 Honens Prize Laureate Illia Ovcharenko, Calgary musician Kenna Burima, and exceptional emerging artists from the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University Conservatory. You’ll also help launch Piano Project YYC 2026, Honens’ initiative to bring live piano music to unexpected public spaces across Calgary. Celebrated on the 88th day of the year (a tribute to the piano’s 88 keys!), Piano Day invites you to pause, listen, and connect as a Steinway & Sons concert grand fills Centre Court with unforgettable sound.

12:30 to 1:15 pm – Calgary piano student showcase
2:00 to 2:45 pm – Special feature with 2022 Honens Prize Laureate Illia Ovcharenko
