Tom Poster was Gold Medalist at the 2007 Scottish International Piano Competition, and performed twice at the Proms in London this year. A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music where he studied with Joan Havill, Poster also achieved a Double First in Music from King’s College, Cambridge. He has been soloist with the BBC Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony, St Petersburg State Capella Philharmonic, European Union Chamber Orchestra and the Southbank Sinfonia led by Vladimir Ashkenazy. He has also appeared several times at the Spoleto Festival, by personal invitation of the late composer Gian Carlo Menotti.Contrabassoons crack him up.
