Tereza Stanislav violin
Violinist Tereza Stanislav divides her time between orchestral, chamber, recording and educational projects. The Calgary native has been the assistant concertmaster of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 2003, and is praised for her “expressive beauty and wonderful intensity” (Robert Mann). Stanislav has performed at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, La Jolla Summerfest, Merkin Concert Hall, Ravinia Music Festival, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and London’s Wigmore Hall. Her distinguished performing partners have included Gilbert Kalish, Jon Kimura Parker, Shauna Rolston, Jian Wang, Richard Young, Chris Millard, Leone Buyse and Mark Steinberg. In 2004, she released a CD in collaboration with 2009 Honens Juror, Hung-Kuan Chen. Together with the Enso String Quartet, Stanislav won Second Prize at the 2004 Banff International String Quartet Competition. This summer, she toured with the MirĂ³ Quartet and performed at Chamber Music Northwest and Santa Fe Chamber Music Festivals. She is active in the film scoring industry in Los Angeles and recently co-created a new music series called In Frequency.
