Marie-Nicole Lemieux  contralto

At age 24, contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux became the first Canadian to win First Prize as well as the Special Prize for Lieder at Belgium’s Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition. The latter was acclaimed as the “Best recording of the year” at the French Victoires de la musique in Paris. Recently, Lemieux appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and has had a number of stage roles, including a performance as Geneviève in Pelléas et Mélisande at the Berlin Staatsoper.
